The Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Staffing and Social Support published a statement regarding the “situation with citizen Serhii Sternenko”. The volunteer has already visited the Primorsky district TCC, where he allegedly paid a fine for violating the rules of military registration and was referred to the military medical commission.

“These facts indicate that Mr. Sternenko was aware of the need to fulfill his duties as a conscript and took appropriate measures to regulate his status. Also, in his public statements, Mr. Sternenko hints that his search is allegedly “revenge” because of his criticism of military structures. Such accusations are groundless and are aimed at evoking sympathy among the public and creating a negative impression of the work of the TCC and the JV,” the statement reads.
The TCC added that criticism and attempts to discredit based on manipulative statements “are not a constructive way to solve the situation and undermine public trust in state institutions.”
Previously, blogger and volunteer Serhii Sternenko commented on the report, in particular, by the publication “Strana.ua” that the Primorsky RTCC allegedly declared him wanted.
According to these reports, the summons was sent to him at an Odesa address, although he indicated in “Rezerv+” his place of residence in Kyiv, the volunteer noted.
“We will deal with this interesting situation. But there are already reasons to believe that this may be a “hello” from the army system for criticism and calls for reform, which our military requires. Or someone really wants to stop the supply of drones to the army and projects to destroy Russian reconnaissance and attack UAVs,” Sternenko added.
Earlier, the Odesa Seaside Court closed the case regarding the death of a participant in the attack on activist Serhiy Sternenko in 2018.
On May 31, 2021, the Odesa Court of Appeal found Serhiy Sternenko guilty under the article of the Criminal Code on illegal handling of weapons for possession of one cartridge. The activist insisted that it was thrown to him during the search.
Then the Supreme Court of Ukraine overturned Serhiy Sternenko’s sentence for illegal handling of weapons.
