This was said by the commander of the “Achilles” battalion of the 92nd separate assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yury Fedorenko, on the air of the telethon.According to him, for the enemy, the Kharkiv region is one of the priorities and their primary task is the occupation of Livoberezhny Kupyansk with further access to the right bank. At the same time, Fedorenko emphasized that during the last period, the Defense Forces managed to stop the advance of the enemy and there was almost no loss of territory in the area of Kupyansk.
“There are some positions that are as difficult as possible and are transitional from hand to hand. But in general, the Defense Forces managed to stop such a rapid operational advance of the enemy. Moreover, the first brigade of operational assignment of the National Guard “Storm” carried out a number of measures that made it possible to almost knock the enemy out of the forest near Kolisnykyvka,” he emphasized. That is, the Armed Forces are not only in active defense, but also form the prerequisites for knocking out the enemy as much as possible from those positions that he did not spare to fully occupy and gain a foothold.
Fedorenko also spoke about the situation in the area of the Oskil River, where the enemy managed to land a certain number of groups on the right bank.
“It must be understood that where the enemy does not succeed in a frontal attack, and in the Kupyan region the enemy suffers more than significant losses – more than 100 military personnel every day on narrow stretches, then he begins to resort to various measures, in particular, very often wearing Ukrainian uniform and try to infiltrate our rear units. When they infiltrate, they try to identify our pilot groups, warehouses and carry out sabotage measures to destroy them.” said the soldier.
According to him, sometimes the enemy works according to another option – it lies in wait until active actions begin on the front and then activates in the rear. At the same time, he added that the majority of such enemy groups are exposed and eliminated.
“The defense forces detected enemy groups, and at the moment a number of measures have been taken to almost completely clear the right bank from representatives of the Russian occupation forces. Therefore, there is no need to talk about the fording of the Oskil River. It is worth saying only that the defense forces effectively fulfilled the task – detected and destroyed the enemy in a timely manner,” Fedorenko stated.
He emphasized that in November, the “Achilles” battalion disabled 600 Russian occupiers – more than 250 were destroyed, and the rest were wounded, who lost the ability to perform combat tasks on the front line.
