Brovary community demonstrates significant progress in reducing unemployment and developing the labor market. As Maksym Viter, director of the Brovary branch of the Kyiv Regional Employment Center, told UNN, the number of unemployed in the community has significantly decreased compared to the pre-war period.

“As of November 11, 238 unemployed people were registered in the Brovary community, and 547 in the district. At the same time, there are much more vacancies: 503 in the community and 616 in the district. These are only those officially submitted by employers. The real demand for labor is even greater, as employers often need more workers than they indicate in their applications,” said Viter.

For comparison, in the pre-war period, the Brovary Employment Center registered up to 1,500 unemployed people with about 500 vacancies. The situation has now changed in favor of the employed: the number of jobs exceeds the number of unemployed.

According to him, the Employment Center has changed its approach to work, focusing on cooperation with employers. He explained that previously, they mainly worked with the unemployed, offering them various vacancies, training or retraining programs. Now the focus has shifted to employers. That is, employees are recruited at the request of employers, as recruitment agencies do.

According to Vitra, the government’s eRobota program, which includes grants for starting or developing a business, supporting veterans and youth, is popular. Entrepreneurs who receive grants create jobs, helping to employ citizens. “This program has been actively implemented since last year and is gaining more and more demand, resonance and interest,” he said.

According to him, the Brovary territorial community pays special attention to the employment of people with disabilities.

“Now we are actively implementing a program for people with disabilities of groups 1 and 2 – compensation for workplace arrangement, that is, if an employer hires a disabled person of group 1 or 2 – not necessarily from the Employment Center, then within six months the employer can apply to the Employment Center for the need to equip the workplace for this person, to create some specific conditions, to buy some tools, programs, special equipment, just some special furniture to make it convenient for the person to work… He comes to us, we contact him.

Despite the fact that the Employment Center is subordinated to the Ministry of Economy, the local authorities in Brovary are actively promoting the development of the labor market, Viter said.

“We cooperate with the city authorities in terms of information: We are invited to forums, meetings with young people and veterans, businessmen, business directors, who, for example, are gathered by the mayor… They invite me and I come and tell them what new products we have, what programs we have, what grants we have… Somewhere we overlap in supporting IDPs, somewhere in supporting the UBD… A good example is the veterans’ hub – we are invited there and we work there within our competence, that is, we fulfill our task. They have gathered us together and we are helping as much as we can,” said Viter

In addition, he said, local authorities also engage international organizations to support employment and business development in the community, creating favorable conditions for economic growth.

Thus, the Brovary community is actively working to address the problem of unemployment, providing support to citizens through employment programs, investments in social initiatives, and effective cooperation with business and international partners.
