In January, Germany Minister Boris Pistorius reported that the next meeting in Ramstein will be held in Brussels in front of the Munich Security Conference, scheduled for February 14-16.
He noted that it was still unknown what would happen to the Ramstein format after that, as it depends on the future US administration.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, after completing the 25th meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine, stated that the next Ramstein meeting may take place in February.
Estonia’s Defense Minister Hanno, Miking, in a comment to Radio Svoboda, assured that regardless of Ramstein’s fate, countries will continue to assist Ukraine through various coalitions of opportunities – from fighters, armored vehicles, air defense, drones, etc.
Two months after the full-scale invasion of Russia in Ukraine in February 2022, the then US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin for the first time invited his colleagues from the Union countries to the German Ramstein-to the US main air base in Europe. The first meeting took place on April 26, 2022. In this format, the Allies discussed and coordinated military assistance to Kiev.
