Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yevhen Perebiynis accepted copies of credentials from the newly appointed Chinese ambassador to Ukraine, Ma Shenkun. He started work in Kyiv today, November 21.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

“On November 21, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Yevhen Perebijnys, received copies of credentials from the newly appointed Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Ukraine, Ma Shenkun,” the message reads.

The deputy minister congratulated the Chinese high-ranking official on the start of his diplomatic mission in Ukraine and noted the positive dynamics of the activation of the Ukrainian-Chinese political dialogue.

The parties discussed current issues of the bilateral agenda, in particular in the context of using the significant potential of trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and China and the interaction of the two countries in multilateral formats.

Currently, China allegedly takes a neutral position regarding Russia’s war against Ukraine, but its companies continue to supply the Russian Federation with goods of double importance. It was not possible to officially record the transfer of Chinese weapons to Moscow.

At the same time, the mass media have repeatedly reported on the transfer of weapons to Russia, and the EU has stated that they have “convincing” evidence of the supply and are preparing sanctions against China.

On November 16, Joe Biden met with Chinese leader Xi Jinping in the capital of Peru. The President of the United States raised the issue of the participation of China and North Korea in the Russian aggression against Ukraine.

The US believes that China’s support for Russia’s defense sector is a decisive factor in the Kremlin’s continuation of the war against Ukraine.
