The network reported the death of the scandalous populist politician Gennadiy Balashov

This was announced by fugitive People’s Deputy Artem Dmytruk in his Telegram channel.

“Hennadiy Balashov has passed away. My sincere condolences to his family and friends,” he wrote.

In July 2025, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, imposed NSDC sanctions against Balashov. Vladyslav Vlasyuk, the representative of the President of Ukraine on sanctions policy, explained that these measures were introduced for the spread of anti-Ukrainian propaganda.

Balashov’s YouTube channel was also blocked in 2025. As the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security Council wrote, he spread narratives consistent with Russian propaganda. The CPD also noted that at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, Balashov left Ukraine.

In 2021, criminal proceedings were opened against Balashov for evasion of income tax and military duty in the amount of more than 9.6 million hryvnias. Also, his property in the total amount of about 200 million hryvnias was seized.

In particular, Balashov publicly called for violence against those who ask others to speak Ukrainian. The politician himself spoke mainly Russian.
