The investigation found that the Russian worked at the Dutch companies – manufacturers of ASML and NXP chips from 2021 to 2024 and during this period regularly copied confidential information from the servers.
It is about information about the Dutch technology of production of chips, which, in the court’s opinion, was not necessary for the performance of his duties.
From the investigation, it turned out that after visit to Russia A. received a large amount of money in his bank account and between 2021 and 2024 put 43,900 euros in cash on his account.
The Russian recognized in court that he had consulted the Russian side, but stated that he kept the confidential information of the Dutch manufacturers of chips “for his own use” and did not know that it could not be transferred to Russia.
“This can contribute to the strengthening of the military or strategic potential of this country (Russia – Ed.), Which has consequences for Ukraine and can indirectly affect international security and stability,” the court stated.
Herman A. was detained in December 2024. At that time, he was forbidden to enter the Netherlands for twenty years, as he was considered a threat to national security.
The prosecutor’s office demanded four years in prison for the man, but the court did not recognize that A. received money for the transmission of information.
