The National Bank of Ukraine has warned of a possible increase in electricity tariffs for household consumers after the end of the 2025-2026 heating season.

This is stated in the inflation report of the NBU for January 2026.

“Until the end of the current heating season, administrative inflation will decrease thanks to the preservation of the moratorium on raising tariffs for the population for certain housing and communal services services. However, in the future, given the high needs to restore the energy system, the forecast includes a technical assumption regarding the increase in electricity prices for household consumers,” the NBU notes.

In addition, the National Bank assumes that tariffs for other housing and communal services services subject to the moratorium will also be gradually adjusted to reach market-based levels.

Thus, after the end of the heating season, consumers should expect a possible revision of tariffs for electricity and other housing and communal services.

Prior to that, the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission (NERCP) temporarily increased price caps on the short-term segments of the electricity market from January 17, 2026.
