The 30th Marine Corps of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, commenting on the Russian attack on Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, as a result of which, on November 1, in particular, military personnel were killed, noted that law enforcement agencies are currently conducting investigations in the military unit in order to find out all the circumstances of the incident. “Certain officials have also been removed from their positions,” the message reads.

As the Navy said, the attack was in the center of the village in the Samariv district, where military personnel were stationed.

“On November 1, Russian terrorists launched a missile-drone attack on a settlement in the Samariv district of the Dnipropetrovsk region. At the time of the attack, servicemen of one of the separate brigades of the marines were in the village. The blow was struck in the center of the settlement, where there is no outpost. “Unfortunately, among the dead and wounded are both civilians and servicemen of our brigade,” the message reads.

Earlier today, the State Bureau of Investigation announced the start of a pre-trial investigation into the death and injury of Ukrainian servicemen due to Russian shelling in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

“According to preliminary information, on November 1 at around 17:00, the enemy launched a missile attack on the base of the Ukrainian military. Due to the attack, there are dead and wounded… In particular, the investigation is checking whether the security requirements of the personnel during the air alert were met and whether the shelter of the military was properly organized,” the message says.

As noted in the SBI, the pre-trial investigation is carried out in accordance with Part 4 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (negligent treatment of military service committed under martial law).

The day before, the “East” military group reported that during the combined strikes on Dnipropetrovsk Oblast on November 1, Ukrainian soldiers were killed.

“At this stage, the relevant law enforcement agencies are working, in particular, the circumstances are being checked regarding the compliance and implementation of the requirements of the orders of the Commander-in-Chief and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the timeliness of notification of the missile threat, the prohibition (restriction) of personnel deployment and holding of meetings and gatherings in open areas, as well as deployment in places not designated for this,” the message read.

The military did not give details.

Meanwhile, TSN journalist Dmytro Sviatnenko wrote on social media that his brother, 43-year-old Volodymyr Sviatnenko (“Healer”), a pilot of the Unmanned Systems Battalion of the 35th Marine Corps Brigade, died on November 1 when he and other military personnel were gathered for an award, and the Russian military hit the spot with a ballistic missile. The brigade did not comment on the situation.

The specialized prosecutor’s office in the field of defense of the Eastern region, for its part, reported that as a result of the strike on November 1, military personnel and civilians were injured. According to the report, the Russian military used two ballistic missiles and three Geran/Gerber attack drones.
