The National Police of Ukraine opened two criminal proceedings in the case of possible fraud during the collection of charitable funds for the treatment of Nazarii Gusakov, who claimed that expensive drugs to combat spinal muscle atrophy.
The case has been initiated after reporting on the lack of reporting on the received funds in June on social networks and messengers. Famous journalists and opinions who actively supported the gathering began to demand explanations.
The investigation found that at least four financial institutions and digital services were used to raise funds. The proceedings were opened by articles of the Criminal Code: Part 4 of Art. 190 (fraud) and Part 3 of Art. 209 (laundering of income from crime).
Law enforcement officers identify the number of persons who could suffer and check the likely involvement of others in possible illegal schemes. The pre -trial investigation is ongoing.
