The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine wants to collect from the state income the shares of Oksana Marchenko, the wife of former People’s Deputy Viktor Medvedchuk, in the legal entities of the channels of the “1+1” group.

About this informs Media detector with a link to the ministry.

The case is being considered by the High Anti-Corruption Court. The next meeting is scheduled for November 27.

In response to the publication’s request, the Ministry of Justice reported that the following were declared to be charged:

  • 8.2104% share in the authorized capital of LLC “Teleradiocompany “Studio 1+1”,
  • 8.1617% share in the authorized capital of “Gravis-kino” LLC,
  • 8.1617% of the total number of shares of PrJSC “TET”,
  • 8.1617% share in the authorized capital of “Real Chiet-TV” LLC,
  • 100% share in the authorized capital of the private enterprise “Omega-TV”.

At the same time, legal entities of channels 112, Zik and NewsOne do not appear in the case regarding sanctions against Medvedchuk and his wife.

On July 5, 2024, the Ministry of Justice filed a lawsuit with the State Security Agency for the confiscation of the assets of Medvedchuk and Marchenko. TV channel property is among those declared for confiscation, but the ministry did not specify the list of channels.

As the publication writes, over the past two years, “1+1” has transferred part of its channel brands to new legal entities.

For example, the company owned by Ihor Kolomoisky – “Studio 1+1” LLC – changed the logo of its channel from “1+1 Ukraine” to “1+1 Marathon”. The Bigudi channel (Real Estate-TV LLC) changed its logo to “2+2 Marathon”. TET and “2+2” brands belong to TET Television Company PJSC and Real Estate-TV LLC (owners – Kolomoiskyi and associates).

That is, the legal entities of these channels appear in the case of recovery of the share in favor of the state.

However, Marchenko’s ownership percentage in these companies is not considered a significant share.

In February 2021, the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting checked the channels of the “1+1” group regarding the presence of Medvedchuk’s wife in the property structure and found no violations.

At that time, the regulator justified its position by saying that Marchenko’s share is 8% and is not a significant share.

We will remind:

In the administration of the state transferred a “new batch” of the property of brothers Medvedchuk and Kozak for almost UAH 400 million.
