According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleksandr Mishchenko, during a meeting with the Ambassador of Hungary to Ukraine Antal Haser, stressed that “for the Ukrainian side it is obvious that the political forces in Hungary under all conditions are trying to involve Ukraine.”
Such attempts by the Hungarian government have previously caused anxiety in Kiev.
“But now, all these non -consistent techniques to create an image of an enemy from Ukraine, which fights the real enemy of the whole Europe and the civilized world, look simply pathetic and offensive, primarily for the Hungarian people, which, unlike the engaged politicians, is really a European nation, which is a volunteer.”
Earlier, the media reported that in Hungary, after completing a survey on Ukraine’s membership in the EU, cartoons appeared on the opponent of Victor Orban Peter Madyara and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to him, 2 million 284 thousand people voted in total, including 2 million 168 thousand (95%) against Ukraine’s accession to the EU, while the remaining 5% voted for Ukraine’s support. According to the year 2023, 9.5 million people lived in Hungary.
Orban initiated Voks2025 this spring. The consultative referendum lasted from April to 20 June 2025. The Hungarians could vote both in special voting sites and online.
The Hungarian edition of Telex notes that the declared number of voting participants is approximately 29% of voters.
Hungary, represented by the head of the government of Viktor Orban and the head of diplomacy Peter Siarta, has repeatedly demonstrated his favorable attitude to the Kremlin. Since the beginning of a full -scale Russian invasion, Budapest has made statements that contradict the overall position of the EU on Ukraine support.
