“Frankly, I do not recommend that journalists trust any of Putin’s proposals regarding “corridors” in the combat zone. I saw with my own eyes how such proposals end – on August 29, 2014 in Ilovaisk,” wrote the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Georgy Tykhy, on the social network Kh.

He added that Putin’s only goal is to continue the war, he has never followed through on any of his ceasefire promises. Don’t help him justify his crimes because of Russian provocations against journalists.
The spokesman also reminded that any visits to the territory occupied by Russia without the permission of Ukraine are a violation of Ukrainian legislation and international law.
While working as a journalist, in August 2014, together with his colleague Ivan Lyubysh-Kirdey, Georgy Tykhi was surrounded in Ilovaisk, where he shot a documentary film about Ukrainian volunteer heroes in the besieged city.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced that they had received an order to ensure the passage of journalists to the districts of Pokrovsk, Mirnograd and Kupyansk. The Russian command is allegedly ready “if necessary to stop hostilities for 5-6 hours in the specified areas, as well as provide corridors for the unimpeded entry and exit of groups of foreign media representatives, including Ukrainian ones, under the condition of safety guarantees for both journalists and Russian military personnel.”
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine declares that there is no enemy “blocking” of the Defense Forces in Pokrovsk, but Russian infantry is accumulating in the city. Also, reports about the “blocking” of Ukrainian units in Kupyansk and Myrnograd are false.
