The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reacted to the statement of Keith Kellogg, the special representative of US President-elect Donald Trump on Ukraine, regarding the end of the war within 100 days after the inauguration on January 20.
“For his part, President Trump’s special representative, General Kellogg, is determined to bring about a just end to the war. We welcome such aspiration of Kellogg,” said the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhiy Tyhiy, during the briefing.
At the same time, he noted that the Ukrainian side will be able to assess the ways to achieve this goal only when Kellogg comes to Ukraine.
“I understand that everyone is following the statements. And I also understand that there is a lot of anxiety in Ukrainian. People follow every statement, every word, interpret… It causes a lot of emotions in people,” the spokesman noted.
The ministry urged everyone to be calm about the statements and not to dramatize any individual conclusions and words.

Tychy assured that the Ukrainian diplomacy and the team of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi are working to ensure that there is close contact between Ukraine and the United States.
According to him, Ukrainians will see after Trump’s inauguration “active” and “close” contacts, during which “all these parameters and positions” will be understood.

On January 8, Kellogg stated that within 100 days of Donald Trump’s inauguration, he aims to find a way to resolve a full-scale war between the Russian Federation and Ukraine.
He also emphasized that the elected president wants “save the sovereignty of Ukraine” and find a solution to the war that would be acceptable to Ukraine and Russia.
During a press conference on January 7, Donald Trump, speaking about Russia’s war against Ukraine, expressed hope that he has six months. Later, the former ambassador of Ukraine to the USA, Valery Chaly, stated that the journalist’s question, which the media failed to hear, was not about the end of the war, but about the meeting with Putin.
On January 9, the future leader of the White House said that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin wants to meet with him. According to him, the organization of the meeting has already started.
