The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine says that official Kyiv expects a meeting between the head of state Volodymyr Zelenskyi and US President-elect Donald Trump shortly after his inauguration on January 20.

Details: The spokesman was asked to comment on Trump’s statement that he is already working on organizing a meeting with the head of the Kremlin.
“Donald Trump has previously spoken about plans for such a meeting, so we do not see anything new in this,” answered Tykhi.
He continued that Ukraine is focused on establishing cooperation with the new administration in the USA and is looking forward to a meeting between Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Donald Trump.
“Our position is very simple: all of us in Ukraine want to end the war fairly for Ukraine. And we see that President Trump is also determined to end the war. Therefore, the main thing is that we are now waiting for a meeting between our presidents – President Trump and President Zelensky. Because the main thing for us is to work together with America for the sake of peace,” the spokesman said.
“We are preparing for Ukrainian-American contacts at the highest and highest level immediately after the inauguration,” said Tyhiy.
In further answers, the spokesman added: “Contacts between the leaders of Ukraine and the USA will definitely take place. Contacts at all other levels are also being prepared and will definitely take place after the inauguration.”
