The Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned US representative on weapons supply / UNIAN photoIn connection with the stopping of key weapons from the United States, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Foreign Ministry of Ukraine has summoned a temporary attorney in the US affairs in Ukraine, John Ginkel.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting with Ginkel was held by the Deputy Foreign Minister Mariana Betz. The key topic of conversation with the US diplomat was US military assistance and defense cooperation of the two countries against the backdrop of escalation by Russian aggression and terror against Ukraine.
The report states that Betz expressed gratitude to the United States for the support provided and emphasized the critical importance of continuing the supply of already selected defense packages, with a special emphasis on Ukraine’s air defense strengthening.
“Any delay or delay with the support of Ukraine’s defensive capabilities will only encourage the aggressor to continue war and terror, not to seek peace,” – revealed details of the conversation in the press service.
The Deputy Minister also reminded that Russia not only rejects the full and unconditional ceasefire, but also continues to intensify air terror against Ukrainian cities and attacks on the battlefield.
“Ukraine supports the US efforts on the need to immediately end the murder and end the war and emphasizes the need for coercion of Russia to peace. In these circumstances, it is critically important to increase Ukraine’s defense capability and increase the coordinated transatlantic pressure on the aggressor,” the statement noted.
At the same time, Betz and Ginkel discussed consultations on defense supplies that are currently ongoing at all levels, and further contacts between Ukraine and the US, which will help to find mutually beneficial solutions to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capability and increase pressure on Russia to promote peaceful efforts.
Stop supplying weapons to UkraineAccording to The Wall Street Journal, the United States stopped supplying Ukraine to air defense (air defense) and other weapons, and they will be used to replenish the Pentagon.
In particular, the decision to stop the supply of weapons intended for Ukraine reflects the weakening of the White House’s commitment to assistance to Kiev in its protection against Russian aggression.
