Details: The representative of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry noted that Ukraine was informed about the plans of the head of the German government to hold a conversation with the head of the Kremlin. In the text of the statement of the spokesperson of the foreign policy department of Ukraine, Putin is not called “the president of the Russian Federation”.

“But even if the chancellor of Germany did not express positions in the conversation that would be contrary to the position of Ukraine, the conversations with the Russian dictator in themselves do not bring any added value for the achievement of a just peace,” the statement reads.
Tychy emphasized that long conversations are “a resource that Putin has been using for over 20 years to achieve his interests.”
“Right now, talks only give Putin hope for easing international isolation… What is needed now are concrete strong actions that will force him to peace, not persuasion and attempts at appeasement, which he considers a sign of weakness and uses for his own purposes,” the statement emphasized.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminded that these specific actions are known – and this is primarily the withdrawal of the occupying forces of the Russian Federation from the territory of Ukraine.
It will be recalled that on the afternoon of November 15, it became known that Olaf Scholz spoke with the head of the Kremlin for the first time in two years.
According to the media, the conversation was initiated by Scholz, and preparations for it lasted “weeks” in close coordination with the G7 countries.
Before the conversation with Putin, the chancellor spoke with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and plans to call him after the call to Putin as well.
