The Ministry of Foreign Affairs named the prerequisites for holding the second peace summit

“No one needs a protocol event. On the contrary, everyone needs a meaningful summit and an event that can really bring a just peace closer. And this work continues””, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org

The prerequisite for the second peace summit is a document based on the results of nine conferences dedicated to individual points of the peace formula. It will be ready in November, noted the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhiy Tykhy, according to the corresponding transcript.

According to him, “the preparations for the second peace summit continue. In particular, during August and October, nine thematic conferences were held, dedicated to individual points of the peace formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi. All these activities have ended and ended with the approval of joint communiqués based on the results of each of these activities.”

Tychy emphasized that the developed documents create “a solid basis for completing work on a joint peace framework and a joint peace mechanism.” Thus, the final document, which is planned to be completed in November, “will represent the position of the international community on the just end of the war based on the goals and principles of the UN Charter.”

“So we are working on this joint peace document. And it is the preparation of this joint peace mechanism that is a prerequisite or, as you know, a condition for a successful second peace summit. As we have repeatedly said, we are ready to invite representatives of Russia to the second peace summit. When, again, the Joint Peace Plan will be completed and we will realize that we can organize a successful summit,” he said.

The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that “no one needs a protocol measure. On the contrary, everyone needs a meaningful summit and an event that can really bring a just peace closer. And this work continues.”

“I will not name specific dates or deadlines because that would undermine our position. And again, we are in the process, so it is difficult, you know, to name the exact specific date for holding the second peace summit,” Tykhy summarized.

At a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada on October 16, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, presented the points of his proposed “victory plan” for Ukraine in the war with Russia. It consists of five public items and several classified applications. According to the president, the first point is to invite Ukraine to NATO.

Zelensky previously stated that Kyiv’s allies agree that it is necessary to invite representatives of the Russian side to the second peace summit, who, according to him, should familiarize themselves with the victory plan proposed by him.

In September, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that Moscow did not and would not participate in the Peace Summit, as “this process has nothing to do with the settlement.”

On September 24, the President of Ukraine stated, speaking at the UN Security Council, that Putin violated “many international rules, he will not stop on his own, Russia can only be forced to peace.”

On June 15-16, Switzerland hosted the first Global Peace Summit. More than 80 countries and four organizations, including the Council of Europe, the European Commission, the European Council and the European Parliament, supported the joint communique following the results of the Global Peace Summit.

After the summit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland, Ignazio Cassis, suggested that the next meeting could be held before the elections in the USA – on November 5.
