Finance minister Serhiy Marchenko believes that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will sign a law on historic tax increases soon, because there is no other option.

He stated this on the air of the telethon, reports UNN.

We have fulfilled all the structural beacons for the successful revision of the IMF program, and we have successfully achieved all the performance criteria and quantitative indicators. Today, we still have 2 main measures that we need to implement: the entry into force of the budget law and the entry into force of the law on amendments to the tax code, which provides for a significant increase in taxes

According to him, the signing of the law on taxes is very important, because without it, the 2025 budget will be unbalanced after revenues.

“I have no doubts that the president will sign a bill on raising taxes in the near future. The Ministry of Finance and the government are very much looking forward to signing it. At least we have no other options,” the finance minister said.
