This was stated by Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Mykhailo Vinnytsky, emphasizing the need to take into account the real needs of the labor market when choosing a future profession, Ukrainian Radio reports.
According to Vinnytsky, there are so -called “situation” specialties that attract a large number of entrants, but after graduation, graduates often face difficulty in finding a job. To such specialties, he referred to the right, management, economy, tourism, journalism and dentistry.
Mikhail Vinnytsky paid special attention to dentistry. Despite the widespread opinion that Ukrainian dentists are a “magnet” to return Ukrainians from abroad due to affordable prices and high quality of services, the Deputy Minister claims that the market is already superseded.
“Due to the fact that we had a large number of dentists who have been produced over the last 10-15 years, today we have a problem that is overproduction,” Vinnytsky explained.
He also added that a similar situation is observed with other popular areas such as management, tourism and restaurant business.
According to Vinnytsky, the Ministry of Education understands that the labor market will not be able to provide work with such a large number of graduates in these specialties.
Vinnytsky also said that in 2025 the universities had already been dismissed for various reasons 4-5 thousand graduate students. Fictitious introduction to graduate school in recent years has become a loophole to evade mobilization.
