The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine requires military personnel to immediately authorize Starlink satellite communication terminals through the DELTA system to avoid their disconnection.
According to the adviser to the Minister of Defense Serhiy Sternenko, this procedure is necessary for entering devices into the “white list”. The main purpose of the measures is to combat the unauthorized use of terminals by the Russian Federation, which uses them, in particular, on its attack drones.
The verification process does not involve placing the equipment on the balance or other complex manipulations, so the fighters are asked to do it as soon as possible to maintain a stable connection. If the “Starlinks” do not pass authorization in time, they will stop working in the combat zone.
Previously, the Ministry of Defense has already published detailed instructions for personnel to guarantee the superiority of Ukrainian forces in the use of satellite technologies and deprive the Russian Federation of the opportunity to use this service.
We will remind, the Russian troops started use drones equipped with Starlink satellite communication. Ukraine already records these cases and should react as quickly as possible. This was stated by the Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, during the “Army of Drones – 2025” event.
Ministry of Defense of Ukraine together with the company SpaceX is working on solving the problem of using Starlink satellite communication systems on Russian drones.
