According to the Russian agency, 20 UAVs were allegedly shot down over Oryol region, eight UAVs each over Rostov and Bryansk regions, five over Kursk region and one over Kuban.
The governor of the Oryol region of the Russian Federation, Andriy Klychkov, noted that the main target of the attack was the fuel and energy infrastructure.
“Fortunately, thanks to the quick response, it was possible to avoid the consequences of the attack – the fire was promptly localized and has now been completely eliminated. There were no casualties or significant damage,” the post says.
According to the media, dozens of explosions were heard over Oryol at night. Local residents reported seeing bright flashes on the outskirts of the city.
The local authorities of the Rostov region also reported a combined attack on the region. No loss or damage has been reported.
The Ukrainian authorities did not comment on these attacks.
Since the beginning of 2024, Russian refineries have been regularly attacked by Ukrainian drones. At some plants, primary oil processing units failed and required repair. However, already in April, Russia was able to partially restore the capacities of key oil refineries.
According to the BBC’s calculations, published in August, since the beginning of the year, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have attacked refineries and oil infrastructure in Russia at least 64 times.
