Details: According to the minister, such speculations appear because the constitutional authorities do not control the territory of the left bank of the Dniester.

“The very existence of this uncontrolled territory, the illegal presence of Russian troops create the ground for manipulations. The fact that state institutions are not present there, do not control, do not monitor all actions, makes it possible to make such statements. As for mobilization measures, obtaining weapons and so on – this is an exaggeration. This is not so,” said Nosatiy on the air of Cabinetul din umbră on the Jurnal TV channel on December 11.

He also said that in Transnistria, various measures are constantly being held that maintain tensions.

“Military exercises, day and night shootings. Recently, they have become more frequent. Even today, checks and training were conducted at peacekeeping posts, which, in my opinion, were unnecessary. This is an attempt to show one’s presence and maintain tension,” Nosatiy added.

Commenting on the information, the Speaker of the Parliament Ihor Grosu said on December 12 that the situation is under control.

“Our institutions are very closely monitoring all movements and developments on the Left Bank. Now we see no reason for concern,” Ihor Grosu said.

Previously, Ukrainian mass media with reference to a source in the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported strengthening of Russian activity in Transnistria.

According to sources, mobilization has allegedly begun in the region, reservists are being called up, weapons are being deconserved, drone production is being set up, and drone operator training centers are being created.

We will remind:

  • The day before, the Moldovan Vice Prime Minister for Reintegration, Valeriu Kiver, announced that Moldova is cooperating with the European Union and the United States develops a reintegration plan unrecognized Transnistria, but will not disclose the details of this plan.
  • The Deputy Prime Minister also noted that Moldova does not want Transnistria to be included in some wider negotiations, in particular regarding the termination of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
