Asked about the supply of the Taurus, Pistorius referred to “arguments that are really important for national security and for NATO strategies” that, he said, “are not usually talked about.”
He also tried to defend the position of Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who had a telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin.
“It is impossible to talk about peace with Putin now, but at the same time we have to try again and again, while supporting Ukraine,” Pistorius said.
At the same time, according to him, less than 48 hours after the conversation, it became clear that Putin does not change his course and demonstrated “that he thinks about peace negotiations or a truce.”
“He ordered to bomb the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine from the air in a manner that has not been seen for a long time,” Pistorius said, commenting on the massive missile attack on Ukraine on November 17.
