According to the correspondent of UNIAN, the relevant decision was announced by judge Viktor Nogachevskyi.

“The petition of the detective of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau is to be partially granted. To choose a preventive measure for Oleksiy Mykhailovych Chernyshov in the form of detention for a period of 60 days with the possibility of making bail in the amount of 51 million 600 thousand hryvnias,” the judge noted.

In the event of bail, Chernyshov will be subject to a number of obligations, including wearing an electronic bracelet.

Viktor Nogachevskyi also reminded that the decision of VACS can be challenged in the Appellate Chamber of the Higher Anti-Corruption Court.

What Chernyshov’s lawyers saidDuring today’s court session, mainly the lawyers of the former government official spoke. Chernyshov’s defenders assured that the suspicion is unfounded.

“I found out that this suspicion is not unfounded, but unsubstantiated. Most of the statements in this suspicion are not supported by anything… In other words, these are the conclusions of the prosecution,” said one of the defense attorneys.

They also emphasized the inconsistencies between the videos of the investigative actions regarding Chernyshov and the corresponding protocols.

In addition, the defenders see no grounds for applying a preventive measure to Chernyshov in the form of detention, noting that the former government official demonstrated impeccable procedural behavior.

Other statements of the meeting participantsChernyshov himself assured in his speech that he had nothing to do with the person under the pseudonym “Che Guevara”, as appeared on NABU tapes.

Chernyshova wanted to take the director of SE “Research Institute of Construction Production” Oleksandr Savchenko as a surety. In his statement, he noted that he has known Chernyshov for over 25 years. Also, the hierarch of the Constantinople Patriarchate, the exarch of the Ecumenical Patriarch in Ukraine, the titular bishop of Komansky Mykhail, in peace – Mykhailo Anishchenko, asked to release Chernyshov on personal bail.

At the end of the hearing, the prosecutor spoke, rejecting the defense’s claim that Oleksiy Chernyshov is not a person with the nickname “Che Guevara”. Regarding the arguments of the defense about the difference between the video of the investigative actions and the protocols, the SAP representative noted that “the video is incomplete and cut off in a certain place.”

He also opposed Chernyshov’s bail, supporting his motion.

SAP suspects Oleksiy Chernyshov of illegal enrichment and unreliable declaration of income. According to the version of the investigation, Chernyshov and his wife received 55 million hryvnias in several installments from the participants in the scheme to embezzle funds from “Energoatom” in the interests of the former government official.

Corruption scandal in the energy sector As UNIAN reported, on November 10, it became known about a large-scale operation by NABU and SAP to expose corruption in the energy sector. The law enforcement officers also searched the company “Energoatom” and the Minister of Justice Herman Galushchenko, who later wrote a resignation letter.

Later, NABU reported the involvement of a number of persons in the scheme, including Oleksiy Chernyshov.

On November 12, the court chose a preventive measure for Dmytro Basov, the executive director for physical protection and security of the Energoatom NPP, known under the pseudonym “Tenor”, in the form of detention for 60 days with the right to deposit 40 million hryvnias as bail.

Also, the court chose a preventive measure against Ihor Myronyuk (pseudonym “Rocket”), a figure in the same case, who was an adviser to Herman Galushchenko when he held the position of Minister of Energy. He was remanded in custody until January 8, 2026. The bail is set at 126 million hryvnias.

At the same time, bail has already been posted for the two participants in the “Midas case”, Lesya Ustymenko and Lyudmila Zorina, who were sent to custody by the VAKS. The amount of the pledge was 37 million hryvnias.
