He is considered the contact person and curator of Ilona Kopylova-Viner, who was detained for espionage. She simultaneously holds the citizenship of Ukraine, Germany and Russia.
According to The Insider, Mayorov began his career as a Pskov paratrooper, after which he served in the 162nd Center for Military and Technical Information of the GRU.
Ilona Kopylova is 56 years old, she comes from Dnipro and has been living in Germany for a long time. The woman headed the Wiener&Partner consulting firm and often met with German businessmen and politicians, including attending meetings with top politicians and once “lighted up” behind Chancellor Friedrich Mertz during his meeting with Zelenskyi.
The woman collected information that could be useful to Russia and regularly passed it on to Russian intelligence. Investigators assume that she could take her curator Mayorov to some meetings under a false name.
It turned out that Kopylova-Wiener met the former head of the 61st test center of the German Air Force, Walter Storz, and retired air force officer Uwe V., who served at the Büchel air base, where American nuclear weapons are stored. It is not known whether the woman was able to get any valuable information through them. Storz was a patron of an NGO headed by Kopylova-Wiener, and she used their acquaintance to gain access to events related to the European defense industry.
After the exposure of Kopylova-Wiener, both of them were allegedly searched and electronic devices were seized, but they were not detained.
We will remind you that earlier this week in Germany it was reported that a woman with Ukrainian and German citizenship was detained on suspicion of espionage.
After that, Germany expelled an employee of the Russian Embassy on charges of espionage. The Russian Embassy called the accusation a “provocation”.
