Details: According to representatives of the new administration, after taking office, Trump plans to restore the federal death penalty, which was suspended by the Joe Biden administration.
According to interlocutors, the Republican will require that official US documents, such as passports, indicate the gender of citizens determined at birth.
Among Trump’s first executive orders will be the rollback of diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in the federal government.
At the same time, the new administration will not immediately introduce new tariffs. An administration official noted that instead, Trump has instructed federal agencies to evaluate US trade relations with China, Canada and Mexico.
In the context of the death penalty, it is worth recalling that in July 2021, US Attorney General Merrick Garland issued a memorandum on the introduction of a temporary moratorium on the death penalty at the federal level. The document called for a review of the death penalty’s policies and procedures.
It should be noted that at the end of December 2024, Trump declared that he would fight against “gender madness”. He also announced in early January that he would create an External Revenue Service to collect revenue from the massive tariffs he promised to implement.
