Legend “Dynamo” Oleg Luzhnyi could lead Dynamo Kyiv on a permanent basis.
According to Ukrainian journalist Ihor Tsyganyk, at that time the club appointed Yury Semin as the head coach, but at the same time it was considered that Luzhnyi would become the next coach after the term of the Russian. 40-year-old Luzhnyi accepted the role of assistant, actively worked in the coaching staff and actually led most of the training process.
Despite the promise and preparation, Luzhnyi never got a full chance to lead the team. After Semin, Gazzaev became the coach of the club. Luzhnyi temporarily performed the duties of a mentor also in 2010.
