Former striker of the national team of Sweden Martin Dalin reacted to the draw for the play-off selection for the 2026 World Cup, where the Ukrainian national team fell to the team.
“National team of Ukraine? There were a lot of strong teams among the possible opponents, but I am happy that the draw brought us to Ukraine,” said the former forward of the Swedish national team, Martin Dalin, during the ceremony.
On November 20, the draw for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in the UEFA zone took place in Zurich, Switzerland. The opponent of the Ukrainian national team in the semi-finals of the playoffs was Sweden. Ukraine will hold a semi-final match on March 26 at a conditional home stadium.
