Enrique was born in the city of San Juan de Aznalfarache (Seville) in 1934. He took his first steps in football in the local teams “Imperial” and “Peña Norit”, until he was lured to the youth team “Atletico”.
After winning the youth league, Kolyar signed his first professional contract with the Matratsniki. However, it was not possible to immediately get involved in the main team – the striker was sent on loan to Cadiz for the 1952/53 season.
Enrique did not have time to return from “Cádiz”, as the next stop was the “Real Murcia” club, in which Colliar spent five months on loan.
It was after a successful performance in the second league of Spain that the attacker got a chance to gain a foothold in Atletico.
Colyar played regularly for the Madrid club from 1953 to 1969 and spent a total of 16 seasons. The attacker played 470 official matches as part of the “Matrasniki”, in which he scored 105 goals.
Together with Atlético, Enrique won the Spanish championship (1965/66), three Spanish Cups and the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup (1961/62).
Atletico fans remember Colliar as a player who wore the captain’s armband for 10 years, one of the club’s longest tenures. Also, the attacker is among the footballers with the most number of matches for the club.
The last year of Enrique’s football career played for Valencia, and he hung up his boots in 1970.
The attacker also played 16 matches for the Spanish national team.
Even at the end of his career, Colyar actively cooperated with the Madrid club: the striker was the president of the Atletico Madrid Foundation from 2005 to 2011, participating in humanitarian and cultural initiatives.
In a show of respect for the legend, Atletico have chosen Enrique as the face of the club’s membership card for the 2023/24 season.
