Midfielder of “Bavaria” and the German national team Joshua Kimmich spoke about a potential boycott of the WC–2026 due to the political course of the USA.
“I decided to distance myself from political discussions. It became clear to us that the excessive activity of players in expressing their political positions is not beneficial.
Of course, to some extent we are responsible for expressing our opinion. However, I am convinced that there are specialists in Germany and the German Football Association who are better versed in these matters, and it is they who should provide comments,” said Kimmich.
We will remind that the 2026 WC will be organized on the territory of the USA, Canada and Mexico in the period from June 11 to July 19.
