NABU and SAP informed the husband of a current People’s Deputy of Ukraine about the suspicion of legalization of property that his wife acquired illegally. He was also charged with failure to declare such property.
This is reported by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, without specifying the person involved. However, it follows from the details of the case that it is about Yuriy Kormyshkin, who is the husband of People’s Deputy Iryna Kormyshkina.
According to the investigation, in 2021-2022, the member of parliament acquired funds worth more than 20 million hryvnias, which significantly exceeded her legal income.
Later, she allegedly loaned them to her husband, who bought a home for them in the Odesa region, where the couple currently lives.
In addition, the law enforcement officers noted that neither the deputy nor her husband in the declaration for 2023 indicated data about the mentioned house and two plots of land that were in their use.
Kormyshkin’s actions are currently qualified under ch. 2 Art. 209 and ch. 2 Art. 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, according to which, if he is found guilty, he faces up to eight years in prison.
It will be recalled that the People’s Deputy from the “Servant of the People” party was informed of the suspicion of deliberately declaring false information. She forgot to include in the declaration the house and land near Odesa, purchased with unknown funds. The investigation established that in the declaration for 2023, Kormyshkina did not include information about the residential building in which she lives, and land plots near Odesa worth more than 17 million hryvnias, which were purchased with unsubstantiated assets.
Before that, on October 16, the SAP prosecutor reported suspicion of illegal enrichment to the current People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Iryna Kormyshkinia (Allahverdieva). The investigation established that in 2021-2022, the people’s deputy acquired assets, namely a house, which exceeded her official income and savings for this period by more than UAH 20 million.
