According to the KMDA, the capital’s heat supply system has already been fully deployed – the rest of the facilities are connected according to the individual decisions of the residents.
“Many representatives of the boards of condominiums, condominiums and other departments have not yet applied for connection for various reasons. For example, the house is thermally modernized and currently does not need heating, or the application is not submitted for reasons of economy. I appeal to the managers of these buildings: such actions must be properly communicated to the residents in order to maintain a reasonable balance of economy and comfort,” said Petro Panteleev, Acting First Deputy Chairman of the KMDA.
The decision to start the heating season in the housing stock was made on October 29, taking into account the weather and the need to reduce the load on the power grid. Social institutions – hospitals, schools, kindergartens – could be connected by individual applications as early as October 3.

On October 25, Minister of Energy Svitlana Grynchuk said that the decision on the start of the heating season is made by each region independently, but with a decrease in temperature, it may start in the coming days.
According to the legislation, the heating period begins no later than when the average daily outdoor air temperature for three days is 8 degrees Celsius or lower, and ends no earlier than when the average daily outdoor temperature exceeds 8 degrees Celsius for three days.
