The Kichenok sisters learned their first opponents at the WTA 500 tournament in Brisbane

Ukrainian tennis players Lyudmila and Nadia Kichenok received their first opponents following the draw of the WTA 500 doubles tournament in Brisbane, Australia.

In the 1/8 finals, the Ukrainian women will play against the tandem Miya Kato (Japan) / Fanny Stollar (Hungary).

If the sisters manage to pass the Japanese and the Hungarian, then in the quarterfinals of the 500 they will fight either with the fourth seeded Iryna Khromachova and Aleksandra Panova, or with Linda Noskova and Clara Towson.

For Ludmila and Nadia, this will be the first match together since mid-May 2025, when they left the WTA 500 tournament in Strasbourg in the first round.

In the main singles draw of Brisbane, Ukraine will be represented by Marta Kostyuk and Dayana Yastremska. The base draw will take place on January 3.

The five-hundredth matches in Brisbane will be held from January 4 to 11. On the night of the 2nd, Ukrainian tennis player Angelina Kalinina lost to Anna Bondar in the opening round of selection.
