The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) at its 68th general conference adopted a resolution on nuclear safety in Ukraine. She calls on Russia to immediately de-occupy the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZAEP) and return it to the sovereign control of Ukraine.
The document was supported by 65 countries, in particular, 52 states became its co-authors. The resolution states that all nuclear power plants of Ukraine, including ZANP, must function under the control of Ukraine to ensure their safety.
Also, the IAEA requires Russia to grant the agency full and unlimited access to the ZANP and all facilities at the plant in order to guarantee nuclear safety until its return to Ukraine.
We previously wrote that the Russians continue to use the territory of the ZNPP to house their troops, ammunition and explosives.
We will also remind you that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is expanding the representation of its monitoring missions in Ukraine to infrastructure objects that affect the safety of nuclear power plants.
