Ukrenergo’s announcement of a technical default will not affect the safe passage of winter and current programs. The issue of default itself is planned to be resolved by February 20, 2025.

This was told by the acting chairman of the board of “Ukrenergo” Oleksiy Brecht to the journalist UNN.

Today, we talked with our Western partners, so some say that the announcement of a technical default is not a pleasant and painful thing, but it will not affect the current programs and samples that are already in place. I expect that all partners will respond in the near future. The current programs of “Ukrenergo” will definitely be enough for us to get through this winter with confidence and move on to preparations for the next one. But we plan to resolve the issue of restructuring and debt repayment for green bonds no later than February 20 next year

According to him, “Ukrenergo” will need several months to solve the technical default and start the programs. He explains that there will be no negative impact on the end consumer.

We will remind

NEC “Ukrenergo” announced that, starting November 9, it will temporarily stop making payments on debt obligations under “green” sustainable development bonds. The parliamentary finance committee explains the decision by “technical default”.
