In a post on the social network, X Sibiga congratulated Senator Rubio on his nomination for the position of 72nd US Secretary of State. According to the minister, he expects the deepening of the strategic partnership between Kyiv and Washington.

“I look forward to working together, deepening the mutually beneficial strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States, and promoting peace through strength in Ukraine and around the world,” wrote the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

The Reuters agency writes that Rubio will be the first Latin American in this position. It was noted that he is known for his tough stances on China, Iran and Cuba.

Regarding Ukraine, Rubio recently said that our country should seek a diplomatic settlement with Russia, rather than focusing on returning all the territories. In addition, he was one of 15 representatives of the Republican Party who voted against the $95 billion financing package, which included aid to Ukraine.
