Ukraine’s accession to NATO will be of fundamental importance. Such a statement was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Great Britain, David Lammy, in an interview with Le Monde.

“We all understand that this will end not only as a result of military actions on the ground, but also as a result of a political settlement… It is very important that Ukraine receives the necessary security guarantees, and that Russian aggression is repelled. And here, in Europe, we really clearly understand that we cannot allow a situation when the war is over, and Russia will return for some time. And therefore this path (of Ukraine’s accession – UNIAN) to NATO and these security guarantees will be of fundamental importance,” he said.

In his opinion, Putin’s threats against the Europeans, as well as the test of a new ballistic missile on November 21, are a “sign of desperation”:

“Russia’s threatening, escalating and reckless statements, especially regarding nuclear threats, are part of Putin’s strategy.”

At the same time, Lemmy assured that Great Britain will continue to support Ukraine.

“We are determined to put Ukraine in the strongest possible position as it enters this very difficult winter of 2025,” he said.

The minister expressed confidence that Ukraine will be able to withstand “this struggle until 2025”.

The war in Ukraine is NATO’s positionIt will be recalled that NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that the Alliance needs to change the trajectory of the war in Ukraine, and for this it must “go further” in its support: “Our support for Ukraine has allowed them to continue the fight, but we need to go further to change the trajectory of the conflict “.

In addition, it became known that the NATO Parliamentary Assembly adopted a resolution on aid to Ukraine, which, in particular, provides for the provision of medium-range missiles (from 1,000 to 5,500 kilometers), including the Tomahawk type, to Kyiv.
