The head of the diplomatic department met with the diplomat after Zvarych criticized anti-Ukrainian statements in the New Year speech of the speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Tomio Okamura. Matsinka said that he did not consider it appropriate for the ambassador of a foreign country to publicly evaluate the statements of one of the highest constitutional officials of the Czech Republic.
According to Matsinka, today’s meeting took place in a serious atmosphere. It was not the ambassador’s challenge. This measure is used in diplomacy as a form of protest or expression of serious concern by the host country about the state represented by the ambassador.
“Tomorrow (Tuesday) I will continue this important discussion during a telephone conversation with my Ukrainian colleague, Minister Andrii Sybiga,” Matsinka said.
We will remind:
- Okamura criticized the provision of weapons to Ukraine and the leadership of the Ukrainian state, which provoked a sharp reaction from the opposition, as well as Ukrainian politicians and diplomats. He opposed Ukraine’s membership in the EU, sharply criticized the position of the EU and President Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s entourage, calling them “Ukrainian thieves around Zelenskyi’s junta.”
- According to the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Andrej Babis, Zvarych with his criticism went beyond diplomatic etiquette.
- The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiga earlier became defensive Welding
