The government is working on permission to issue passports abroad to all categories of men. Currently, registration and receipt of passports for men aged 18-60 years who are abroad is possible only if there are military accounting documents.
This was stated by Viceremier-Minister-Minister of National Unity of Ukraine Alexei Chernyshov, writes Interfax-Ukraine.
“I am glad that we managed to unlock it all (receiving men abroad earlier passports – ed). Today, most of the 80,000 passports have already been issued, and by the end of the month they will receive the rest, ”Chernyshov told reporters on Wednesday in Kiev.
At the same time, he reported that there was a goal to change the posture that limits the issuance of passports abroad for a number of other categories of men.
“To give Ukrainian men, those who need it: those who have a passport. He is, say, the Czech Republic, he is a man, he ends with a passport, he comes to SE “Document”, and he is told to give him military documents …
Chernyshov stressed that today’s ban does not work on the return of men.
“What do we win? We will not win anything, ”he added.
Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine regulated the issue of issuing passports to Ukrainian citizens who are abroad, but only if there are military accounting documents.
In April 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine published an additional clarification on the suspension of consular services for Ukrainian men abroad.
