The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the resolution, which brings the procurement of unmanned systems and means of radio-electronic warfare of domestic production to a permanent basis.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in the Telegram channel.
“This decision means stability, systematicity and predictability for all participants in the process,” – stressed the head of the Ministry of Defense Rustem Umyerov.
He noted that the decision of the Cabinet primarily simplifies procurement procedures: commanders of military units can purchase tactical-level drones and EW without unnecessary bureaucratic coordination with the General Staff and other military administration bodies.
In addition, access to framework agreements is expanding. The military units were given the opportunity to join the agreements concluded by the procurement agencies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Special Communications, which will make it possible to receive equipment faster and at competitive prices.
“This decision ensures not only efficiency in supplying the necessary technologies to the front, but also supports Ukrainian manufacturers, giving them the opportunity for stable development and improvement of products. From now on, the military will be able to plan their needs more effectively, and manufacturers will be able to focus on technological development and scaling up production,” Umerov emphasized.
Earlier, the government of Ukraine took an important step in the development of unmanned aviation by launching an experimental project for the certification of schools of UAV operators. The changes will help establish clear requirements and unify the training process for training drone operators.
In the future, drone operators will be able to control them even far outside the combat zones, such plans were announced by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov.
In addition, Ukraine is developing kamikaze drones with software that, thanks to artificial intelligence, allows to hit the target in case of loss of communication with the operator.
