The Cabinet of Ministers has redistributed funds and directed additional funding for fortifications in Zaporizhzhia, government representative in parliament Taras Melnychuk said on November 26.

“Funds (remainder of cost savings) allocated by Government decisions from the reserve fund of the state budget to the Vinnytsia, Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Ternopil, Chernivtsi and Cherkasy regional military administrations have been redistributed in the amount of 258 million. 230,352 thousand hryvnias,” he said.

Melnychuk explained that this was done in order to allocate 203 million 349,187 hryvnias to the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration for “the construction of military engineering and fortification facilities, fortification equipment of defensive lines, and the installation of a system of non-explosive barriers.”

According to the official, the government has cut funding to a number of regions. The difference between the need of Zaporizhzhya OVA and the funds released by order in the amount of 54 million 881 165 hryvnias was returned to the reserve fund of the state budget.

The day before, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that, according to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, there are threats, in particular, in the Zaporozhye region.
