The Cabinet of Ministers allocated an additional UAH 5 billion from the reserve fund of the state budget for the implementation of the “Winter is Support” program. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. “In this way, all requests for assistance submitted by Ukrainians will be fulfilled, people will receive funds and be able to spend them on communal, medical, educational and other services,” he said. According to the Prime Minister, the government has improved the mechanism of payment of funds for people over 60 years old, people with disabilities of I and II groups who receive disability pension or social assistance through banking institutions, and for incapacitated persons upon the application of a guardian. These citizens will receive their thousand hryvnias through “Ukrposhta”. Advertisement: The government has also regulated the information exchange algorithm between institutions implementing the “Winter is Support” program, which will contribute to generalization of data and informing Ukrainians. We will remind: As of January 7, 8 million Ukrainians have already received a payment of 1,000 hryvnias under the “Winter is Support” program, and the total number of applications was 11 million.
