According to the headquarters, the largest number of Russian attacks – 27 – were in the Pokrovsky direction, where the Russian forces tried to advance near the settlements of Rodynske, Mirnograd, Pokrovsk, Kotlyna, Udachne, Molodetske, Filia and towards Novopidgorodny, Novopavlivka, New Donbas. In some locations, fighting is still going on.
Also, intense fighting continues in the Gulyaipil region – there were 22 Russian attacks in the areas of Gulyaipil, Myrny and in the direction of Dobropill, Zaliznychny, Pryluk, Varvarivka, Sviatpetrivka, Zeleny. Fighting continues in some locations.
In the direction of Kostiantynivka, Russian invaders stormed the positions of Ukrainian defenders 17 times today near the settlements of Pleshchiivka, Yablunivka, Rusyn Yar, Kleban-Bik and in the direction of Kostiantynivka, Ivanopil, Stepanivka, Novopavlivka, Sofiivka.
There were eight Russian attacks each on the Lymansky and Slavyansky directions.
Combat operations also continue in the North-Slobozhansk and Kursk, South-Slobozhansk, Kupyansk, Oleksandrivsk, Orihiv and Dnieper directions.
The enemy did not conduct offensive operations in the Kramatorsk direction.
On January 22, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that the Defense Forces continue to restrain Russian troops in Pokrovsk and Myrnograd in Donetsk region, as small groups of the Russian Federation are trying to infiltrate the northern regions of both cities. He noted that as a result of the active assault actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, another attempt by the Russian invaders to capture these settlements was thwarted.
Fighting in Pokrovsk has been going on since October 2025, when the Russian army managed to break through to the city after several months of fighting on its slopes. Almost immediately, Russian soldiers began to be recorded in Pokrovsk’s satellite city of Mirnograd.
The Pokrovsky direction, according to the reports of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, constantly leads in terms of the number of Russian assaults.
