“On the night of October 19, 2025, the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck the Novokuibyshev oil refinery in the Samara region of the Russian Federation. Explosions and a fire were recorded on the territory of the enterprise. The plant produces more than 20 types of commercial products, and the annual volume of primary processing is 4.9 million tons. According to preliminary information, primary oil processing facilities were affected. There is a fire on the territory of the enterprise.
The extent of the damage is being clarified. The company is involved in meeting the needs of the Russian army,” the message states.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces also announced the explosions and large-scale fire at the Orenburg gas processing plant.
“The Orenburg GPP is one of the largest gas processing complexes in the Russian Federation and is capable of processing up to 45 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 6.2 million tons of gas condensate or oil per year. According to preliminary information, one of the gas processing and purification installations was affected,” the Ukrainian military informs.
The report also mentions damage to the base of fuel and lubricants in the occupied Berdyansk of the Zaporizhzhia region.
Earlier, the governors of Russian regions confirmed the attacks by Ukrainian drones, and Telegram channels indicated that they were talking about the Novokuibyshevsky Refinery and the Orenburg Refinery.
From the beginning of 2024, refineries and other facilities of the fuel and energy complex in Russia and in the occupied territories are regularly attacked by Ukrainian drones. At some plants, primary oil processing units failed and required repair.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed most of the attacks, stating that the Ukrainian military “consistently carries out measures aimed at undermining the military and economic potential of the Russian Federation, in particular its ability to provide the occupying forces with fuel, ammunition and weapons, as well as with the aim of ending armed aggression against Ukraine.”
