UAF continues systematic work on updating approaches to the formation of youth national teams, ensuring maximum transparency and equal opportunities for all players.
After the historic training camp, to which 33 football players of the U-15 age category were called for the first time, the UAF held the next stage – the Future of the National Team tournament for players born in 2009.
The competition lasted from December 4 to 8 at the Arsenal-Arena (Schaslyve village) and NTB Dynamo indoor arenas. Six teams took part in the tournament: two youth national teams of this age, as well as representatives of leading clubs – Shakhtar Donetsk, Dynamo Kyiv, Rukh Lviv and LNZ Cherkasy.
The teams were divided into two groups, and after the group stage, head-to-head matches took place, in which the opponents determined the final places.
He became the winner of the tournament Minerwhich in the final match defeated the youth national team B in a series of post-match penalties (0:0, pen. 5:3).
The tournament became an important part of the large-scale transformation of the UAF selection system, because it created equal conditions for evaluating players from clubs of different regions and significantly expanded the field of observation of the coaching staff.
