For the transfer of data, the detained allegedly received 11 thousand rubles (which is almost $ 130 at the time of publication).
“Detained with the help of WhatsApp online messenger initiatively transmitted photo-video materials and electronic files containing coordinates of military facilities and critical infrastructure facilities, as well as the location of air defense,” the statement said.
According to the Russian special services, the data obtained from the man were used to plan sabotage and to cause rocket-artillery strikes on the positions of Russian troops.
The FSB stated that a criminal case was initiated against the detainee under an article on “treason”. He was chosen a pre -trial detention measure.
The name of the detainee, as well as his public comments, the Russian side does not publish.
According to the human rights organization “Crimean”, in 2024, at least 56 Crimeans were persecuted by the Russian authorities. The reasons for criminal cases were accusations of alleged relations with the prohibited organizations in the Russian Federation, state treason, espionage, public statements, organizing sabotage or calls for violence.
