The team from Grove previously failed to pass the mandatory FIA crash tests, which forced them to focus on finishing the car and miss the pre-season tests in Barcelona.
At the same time, the strengthening of the structure led to a noticeable increase in mass. It was reported that the excess could be as much as 30 kilograms, equivalent to about 0.9 seconds off a lap on the track.
However, later the team successfully passed all the necessary checks, and today, after the presentation, the car revealed its actual weight – 772.4 kg. This is only 400 grams more than Mercedes, which is considered one of the favorites of the season.
