Former WBC world champion in the second lightest weight (up to 52.2 kg), Mexican Carlos Cuadras (44–6–1, 28 KOs) officially announced the end of his professional career.

The 37-year-old boxer suffered a painful defeat in a match with the talented Japanese Tomoya Tsuboi (3-0, 2 KOs) – on November 24, he was beaten and knocked out in the eighth round.

“This is my last fight. When we agreed to fight Tsuboya, I decided that I would end my career if I lost. The opponent was incredible, I accept defeat.

The fighter I met on Monday is going to be world champion. I fought in Japan for the first time in ten years. And I’m happy to be back here after a long hiatus. My career started here and it will end here,” Cuadras said.

The representative of Mexico began his professional career back in 2008, and six years later won the world championship title and held six successful title defenses.
