The former head coach of the national team of Austria and German Mainz died

An Austrian football player and coach died at the age of 70 Ditmar Konstantiny.

He began his football career in 1975 in the Austrian club “Wakker” from Innsbruck, playing as a central defender.

He later moved to LASK, and later moved to Greece, where he played for the Kavala team. He also defended the colors of the clubs “Union Wales”, “Favoritner” and “Winer Sport Club”.

In 1987, he finished his playing career and joined the coaching staff of Al-Ittihad. He later led the youth team of Austria, and in 1991 he became the head coach of the Austrian national team for the first time. However, he did not stay in this position for a long time and subsequently became an assistant to the head coach. In 1993, he returned to club football and headed “Admyra Vacker”.

He worked at “Vakker” for two years, after which he moved to “Tyrol”. In 1997, he left for Germany, where he became the head coach of Mainz, but ended his cooperation with the club at the end of the season.

In 2001, he became the head coach of the “Austria Vienna” team. He worked there for only an hour, after which he trained for LASK, “Kernten”, “Pashing” and “Rapid” clubs.

In 2008, he headed “Austria” for the second time, but already in the middle of the season he agreed to become the head coach of the Austrian national team. He led the team for two years, after which he left the post due to health problems.

Unfortunately, these problems haunted him for years.
